{Dairy Queen: Strawberry CheeseQuake Blizzard}

I rarely go out for ice cream... I find making sundaes and other ice cream related treats at home much more appealing. When I do venture out, I tend to get 1 of 3 things... DQ: Strawberry CheeseQuake or Heath Blizzard. Baskin-Robbins: Pralines'n Cream. love, Love, LOVE IT! And with the heat wave we've been having, these cold treats have become a must have.

It's needless to say that I love Hell's Kitchen. The new season started on Monday. Gordon Ramsey is great however the best part is the insanely crazy competing chefs. Anyone who knows anything about Gordon Ramsey knows that he is mean and has extremely high expectations... but these chefs come on the show and from the first moments start whining & complaining about Chef Ramsey. They act as though they have never seen the show before... or they don't know about Chef Ramsey reputation. The competing chefs are definitely cray-cray... and I enjoy watching it. Also, I love his Kitchen Nightmares show probably a little more than Hell's Kitchen... can't wait for the new season {Sept 23}.

{Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon}
{A post-Birthday present}

The past couple of weeks have been kind of terrible for me... I don't really know what has changed but something has and I have been having a pretty tough time. The bright spots have been my weekends... there has been a lot of Birthdays to celebrate, cook-outs, and hanging-out going on. And with my people so spread out, it seems like I'm gonna be celebrating my Birthday the whole month of July and the first 2 weeks in August on the weekends, not that I mind... please continue THANKS GUYS! Ha!
Although, now that I think about it, my weekdays could seem so horrible because my weekends have been so epic. Hmm...

{Want: Burton Wheelie Double Deck or Wheelie Sub}

*I had quite the encounter when I picked up this skirt. I was just walking around the store not really looking for anything, just scanning the racks when I spotted this striped pattern. I picked it up, checked the size and just kind of looked up and around trying to decide if I wanted it. As I looked up a notice a woman semi power-walking in my direction. She comes over to me, gets really really close and proceeds to try and talk me out of getting this skirt.  Huh?!?! First of all, I have a serious problem with people, especially strangers, being in my personal space. Really people... if we don't have a relationship of some sort, then you have absolutely no need to be so close to me... my hearing is great! And secondly, after getting this woman to go away yeah, I was kind of mean......well she didn't need to be so close an employee tells me that this woman does this all the time. She doesn't actually  look through the racks, she just roams around the store looking at what others are getting then tries to talk them out of getting it. Come on, really?!?! In the words of one of my co-workers "I don't time!" Thanks Jaime. Ha.

{They Call Me Mellow Yellow}

This is the second time I have worn this extremely yellow shirt and I still don't know how I feel about it.
It is awfully bright....
This picture really doesn't depict just how goldenly neon this shirt is.

Flats: LB| Capri: IF| Shirt and Tank: ON

Anyways, I'm off to brush up on NC traffic signs... Yeah, my driver license expired on Sunday. Doesn't that just suck?!?! Your birthday is supposed to be a happy occasion and BAM! your license has expired.
What is the world coming to?? Ha!

{Great Food and Great Service}

I have had a love/hate relationship with Olive Garden for a long time. Love: the food is great. Hate: the service has been terrible. I'm not a person to complain about a servers attitude, as long as the food is good. I show my displeasure in the tip I leave, when my dining experience is like that. Well, the decision was made to have an early lunch there after a super long hiatus and I was extremely happy with the whole experience. I don't know whether they have hired some new people or if it was just the beginning of the day for them they where still fresh but we had a great time. From being offered a beverage or a shot at 11:30am while waiting for my friend to show up... to the AMAZING new Carbonara Ravioli with Chicken... to awesomely attentive servers. Great! Great! Great! I will definitely be back...soon.

{Final Car Payment}

There is really only one word to describe how I feel after the last 5 years...STOKED!!! I have paid my final car payment this week and could not be more excited. I have been everywhere It feels like it. in this car....weekly extended trips up and down the East coast. Syd has been very good to me. My Cobalt is cobalt blue...so that makes it a boy. I have a trip planned for next month, which just so happens to be around the same time that I would normally be making a car payment. Ha! Yeah, I know what I should be doing with the extra money but I can't help but celebrate the first month since paying off the largest debt I have owed so far. I haven't bought a house yet.

{How I Spent My Downtime}

Flats: Sears| Pants: Thrifted| Tanks: ON| Reversible Sweater: LB| Necklace: Body Central

There was quite a bit of TV watching that went down this 4th of July weekend. I think we may have enjoyed the downtime a little more than the actual events we went to. Friends, Drinks, Food, AC, etc. I mean, who else felt like the heat and humidity almost sucked the life out of you this past weekend?

What was watched...
  • Battle: Los Angeles:  It started off kind of slow...the ending was okay. It was your standard action movie.
  • Beastly:  First of all I was conned into watching this. I won't explain...it was all too embarrassing *head bowed down shamefully* Ha! It was exactly what you would image it would be...sappy and semi-nauseating.
  • Unstoppable:  Well...we didn't actually watch this movie. After reading the movie spoiler...just didn't feel up to watching it any more.
  • What's Love Got To Do With It:  I have seen this movie so many times and own it on DVD however when I'm channel surfing and I come across this movie on TV, 8 out of 10 times I stop and watch it again.
  • Independence Day:  A little cliche? Yeah. However I LOVE this movie for some reason. I own it on DVD and watch it year-round.
  • The Birdcage and To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar:  2 extremely hilarious movies. I own these movie as well. If you have not seen them, then you really need to get them in your life... like right now. My mom actually finds these movies funny, which is really saying something considering their contain is very very VERY far from what she is into.
  • Deadliest Catch Marathon:  I didn't watch the whole thing but it was a great backup for when we had downtime during our downtime.

{Happy Birthday America!!!}

4th of July weekend has to be the best weekend of the year. Not only do we celebrate Independence Day but in my family we celebrate my BIRTHDAY 6 days early. You see, my sister's birthday is June 30th, Independence Day is July 4th, and my birthday is July 10. She is 6 years & 10 days older than me
...so all of this equals a combined Birthday party/4th of July BBQ. That works for me!!

This is what I wore this weekend while trying to be patriotic in red, white, and/or blue...
Saturday
Flippers: Rainbow| Shorts: ???| Shirt and Tank: ON

Sunday
Sandals: AE| Dress worn as a skirt: Gift| Henley Shirt: ON| Necklace: Body Central| Bangle: IF

Monday
Flippers: Rainbow| Shorts: FB| Shirt: ON| Owl Necklace: Icing
Yeah, I know this shirt is fuschia not red...close enough.

{June Closet Review}

This review includes outfits that I did wear this month however did not post.
My New Year's resolution to wear every item in my closet has been a very eye-opening experience so far. I have sooo many of the same items in my closet. Most of them are the same style , different colors...but there are a few that are the same color as well. For example: I have found that I own 6 short-sleeve henley shirts...1 purple, 1 yellow, 1 blue/gray and 3 white...3!!! How I came to have 3 of them, I don't know...no doubt I got them at a ridiculously reduced price they are from Old Navy...which more that likely, they were having their 50% off the clearance price sale. That is when I usually get all my basics. And can you truly have too many white or black shirts? I would normally say no but these three on top of the other white shirts I own is kind of pushing it...I think...

*Extras will be back next week.
